Kye had always been a friendly but very shy child, hiding behind his mother or older sister whenever they left the house, while never forgetting to wave or say hi to the people of his hometown, Always being sure to remember the names of the people he met that day, This allowed him to make lots of acquaintances, many of which became close friends over the years.Even throughout high school kye had been unable to overcome his shyness, much to the amusement of his friends, who would often mistake this for him having crushes on the new kids and regularly would try and set him up with them, both the guys and the girls and though he never said anything kye had been secretly glad that his friends didn't seem to care the gender of the people they thought he liked.Despite having a lot of friends and never short on invitations to go out, kye’s favorite thing was always to sit in his room with a warm blanket and one of his books, he would gladly spend hours and hours curled up on his bed, getting lost in all the adventures his stories offered him. Even when his sister and friends made fun of him he never minded because in these far away worlds he didn't have to be shy and quite, he didn't have to even get in any danger he could become apart of the story and still be safe in his bedOn kyes 18th birthday everything changed, as one of his closest friends, jay made a mistake and was put into terrible danger, When he learned what was happening it terrified kye but he knew he had to do anything and everything he could to save his best friend, this lead him to going to a white witch in order to turn himself into a familiar, knowing this would allow him to have better chances of helping his friend.Now a shika familiar, kye was able to use his new found abilities to save jay before he could lose his life, his decision and willingness to help out a friend came at a price, his family. His beloved sister and mother were mortified when they learned he had given up his humanity and told him to leave and never contact them again. They were disgusted with him for this and even claimed to not have a son or brother. With nowhere else to go kye left the only home he ever knew, he was now aloneAt 18 with no home, no family and changed forever, Kye would spend the next few weeks staying with a few of his friends each no more than a few days at a time, oddly he didn't feel as broken as he thought losing everything would feel. He would miss his family and would always love them no matter what they felt toward him but he would not let this tear him down, he still had his friends and though he and jay are no longer close he would always have the knowledge that he was able to save his friend that day. He also knew that he wanted to continue to help others anyway he can.With nowhere to go and unwilling to burden his friends with housing him any more, he stayed with the witch who turned him while he adjusted to his new life and learned from her, learned about the world he was now apart of, learned its history, through her he found more of himself then he ever did as a human and he grew to care for her greatly and enjoyed the time he spent with her. However he longed for a family, no, a heard one that would accept him no matter what. This feeling and the encouragement from the white witch lead him to leave her home for something new, though he stayed in close contact with her.Kye moved to a new city and a new place, close to the forests. He even got himself a job in the local library, allowing him to be surrounded by the books he loved daily and on the days he didnt work he spent his time doing something else he loved, something that made he feel good and content with his new like, helping people who needed it, whether it was a little girl looking for her parents at the market, or helping a hungry person feed. He would continue doing this and maybe someday he'd find that place where he truly belonged.
